Oct 30, 2017

The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jeff Skinner has been named the NAHL’s Midwest Division Player Of The Week.

The 19 year old, Katy, Texas native played an integral part in Springfield’s weekend sweep over the Topeka Roadrunners. On Friday night, Skinner only had one assist but it was a good one.

On Saturday night, Skinner exploded for 4 points including 2 goals and 2 assists. His second goal proved to be the game winner and he was rewarded with the 1st Star of the Game. On the season he now has 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 12 games.

Skinner is the second Springfield Jr. Blues player to win Player of the Week. Goaltender Juraj Ovecka won the award back in September following the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN.
