Jr. Blues Draft Picks

Kevin Shand 6’1” 215 lbs Forward Cedar Rapids USHL

Kevin split time this past season with the Jr. Blues, Metro Jets of the NA3HL and Cedar Rapids in the USHL.  Kevin scored 8 goals and 10 assists with the Jr. Blues helping the team get off to a good start as part of the Curry and Kalter line.  He was missed in the 2nd half when he earned a promotion to the Cedar Rapids Roughriders where he scored 1 goal and 5 assists in 14 games.

Coaches Comments: “Kevin was one of our most improved players last season and key goal scorers which earned him a chance to play in the USHL.  If things do not work out with the Roughriders, we wanted to make sure he was wearing a Jr. Blues uniform.”

Ryan Conlin 5’11’ 190 lbs Forward Team Comcast

Ryan scored 16 goals and 23 assists in the Tier I Elite League this past season. The Youngstown Phantoms drafted Conlin in the 2013 USHL Entry Draft.

Coaches Comments: “Ryan’s playmaking ability will help us improve our offense next season.  He produced at a high level last season and we will look for him to continue his scoring ways.”

Sergey Golov 6’2” 205 lbs Defender Moscow Dynamo

Sergey is a defensive defenseman from Russia.  Golov was drafted 63rd overall by Atlant Mytishchi in the KHL Draft this spring.

Coaches Comments:  “Golov really impressed us at our Draft Camp in May.  He is a smooth skating defenseman that can make a good first pass.  But we are most excited by his play in front of the net as he is not afraid to mix it up and block shots.”

Mike Behm 6’2” 200 lbs Forward Michigan Nationals

Mike scored 44 goals and 30 assists for the Michigan Nationals 18U Team this past season.

Coaches Comments: “Mike was one of our favorite players at our Draft Camp.  He has the size, speed, and scoring touch to be successful this season.”

Dryden McKay 5’11” 170lbs Goaltender Chicago Young Americans

Dryden was the starting goalie for the Young Americans this past season leading them to the national tournament where he started every game.  In the HPHL, he posted a 2.24 GAA and .922 SV%.  Dryden was drafted by Waterloo in the USHL Entry Draft.

Coaches Comments: “Dryden is a technical goalie that knows how to win.  We have known him for a couple of years and got a chance to watch him shine against the best competition in the US at Nationals.  We are excited to have him on the back end.”

Brian Rigali 5’9 170lbs Forward Team Illinois

Brian scored 32 goals and had 21 assists for Team Illinois this season.  He also skated in the Draft Camp, where he showed he is ready for the jump to the NAHL this season.

Coach Comments: “Brian looks to fit the mold of the players that we have had success with this past season.  He lead his team in scoring this past season and has the skill and ability to make the transition to score for us this season.”
