Blues get 3 of 4 Points on Road

Springfield Jr. Blues 5 @ Port Huron Fighting Falcons 6 (SO) – It was a comeback for the ages as the Fighting Falcons came back from deficits of 4-0 and 5-2 to ultimately win in a 22-man, 11 round shootout by a score of 6-5. The Jr. Blues led 4-0 after the 1st period on two goals from Josh Lammon and others from Max Kalter and Cameron Brown. Port Huron’s Logan Lambdin and Jonathan Kopacka scored in the 2nd period to make it 4-2. Springfield’s lead increased to 5-2 early in the 3rd period on a goal from Patrick Curry. However, three goals in the game’s final seven minutes from Bryan Yim, Matt Jones and Lambdin sent the game to a shootout.  As the 22nd shooter, Noah Batis finally scored to end the game.

Springfield Jr. Blues 4 @ Port Huron Fighting Falcons 1 – The Jr. Blues earned a 4-1 win and took three of four points in their weekend road series against the first place Fighting Falcons thanks to win on Sunday. Like they did the night before, the Jr. Blues jumped out to an early lead, only this time they would make it stick. Patrick Curry scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season to give the Jr. Blues a 1-0 lead in the 1st period. The lead increased to 3-0 in the 2nd period as Ji Young Li and Lester Lancaster scored for Springfield. Port Huron finally got on the board as Bryan Yim scored with just over nine minutes remaining, but all hopes of a Port Huron comeback were dashed when less than two minutes later Logan Wendling added an insurance goal. Stefanos Lekkas made 26 saves in the win, while Max Milosek took the loss, making 26 saves
