6 Springfield Alumni To Play In NCAA Tournament

The Springfield Jr. Blues will be well represented in the NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Tournament that begins this Friday. Springfield will have six alumni on five different teams in the 16 team tournament.

Those six alumni are:

-Erich Fear- Defenseman for #1 ranked University of Denver

-Mitch Rogge-Forward for #4 ranked University of Minnesota

-Patrick Curry-Forward for Boston University

-Matt Iacopelli-Forward and Hobey Baker Award Nominee for Western Michigan

-Trevor Stone-Forward for Air Force Academy

-Brady Tomlak-Forward for Air Force Academy

Fear and the University of Denver will play Michigan Tech on Saturday at Noon. Rogge and the University of Minnesota will play Notre Dame on Saturday at 2:30pm. Curry and Boston University will battle defending National Champions North Dakota on Friday at 2:00pm. Iacopelli and Western Michigan will battle Stone, Tomlak and Air Force Academy on Friday at 6:30pm

All games will be covered by ESPN’s family of networks (ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3).
